Arya sighed in frustration as she stood up again after Nymeria had tripped her up with the command sit. Robb, Jon and Sansa had all trained there pups with ease and Arya did not want this to be another thing that Sansa could do better then her. Arya met the she wolf's eye, she could almost see the stubborness of the wolf and knew she might have to establish who was top dog in this relationship. She knew the wolf wasn't stupid, she was just stubborn but Nymeria wasn't yet aware of how stubborn she could be too. She frowned at the wolf and went to back up a few steps, "Stay", she said firmly to Nymeria and rolled her eyes as the Wolf ran off.
Arya sighed and ran off after her wolf and ended up tripping in the steam as she tried to catch her. Arya looked up to see her wolf watching her with what almost seemed like a grin to the girl and glared straight back at her as she pushed her now wet hair off her face and stood, her clothes dripping water. She was almost starting to wish her brothers had never found the wolves, or at least she would if she didn't love the idea of her so much. Arya heard laughing and turned to glare at the culprit, meeting the eyes of her older brother. She had to admit if it wasn't her she would have been laughing right beside her brother though.

Robb had been sent by his father to look after Arya, to make sure that she was taking care of her direwolf. Since he had had nothing better to do he had went to do so right away. After walking the castle for a while trying to catch her attention, he had managed to spot her through one of the windows. Walking down to where he had seen her, he came out just as she went after her wolf. Laughing lowly for himself at his little sisters hopeless expression as she take off after Nymeria, he had followed soon after, unprepared with the scene that he would face when rounding the corner they had disappeared behind. As he came around the wall, he was met by one of the funniest things he thought he had ever seen. His sister, completely soaked rising from the steam, and Nymeria as dry as ever sitting there and watching her with an wolfish grin. Unable to contain himself, his low laughter had turn into an loud, hearty one, and as his sister turned around to glare at him it had only fueled up even more. After a short while he managed to kill it down somewhat, but it was with an tone very close to laughter that he spoke. '' So who was it that trained who to swim? '' He said as he almost broke up in another well meant laughter. Arya Stark

Arya just glared in response to her brother for a while. If he had have been closer she would have tried to splash him. A smile started pushing past her glare though as she continued to look at Robb as he tried not to laugh. She had never really been truly able to stay mad at any of her siblings other then Sansa, but that was a different situation. Arya watched as Nymeria moved to Grey Wind and then carefully moved out of the stream, least she slip on a rock and fall back in. "What am I going to do Robb? She wont listen to me, even shaggy listens better to Rickon", she said. "How did you get Grey Wind to listen to you?", she asked, hoping that at least one of her siblings may have had some of the troubles she was having, even if it didn't look like it.
Arya moved to sit on the wall as she waited for her brothers reply. She let her fur coat fall from from her shoulders, feeling she was less likely to get sick without wet furs on her. Her clothes would dry quicker with out them and it wasn't all that cold a day anyway. Winter was not yet coming.

When he had finally managed to silence his laughter he saw Arya jumping up to sit on the wall, taking of her soaked furs. He walked up to her side with an smile, as he unhooked the pin at his chest and put his mantle over her shoulders, grinning light heartedly as he saw how it fell down over her, way too large for her small size. '' Mother will be mad with you if you return sick. '' He said with an short wink. He then turned to watch the two direwolves as he pondered her question briefly. '' I don't know, he have just been eager to learn since the day we found them out in the forest. '' He said as he thought back at the day when they had seen the dead direwolf in the snow. Some had called it an sign, the dead direwolf with an antler thrusted in its throat, but the joy of finding the pups had soon replaced anyones worried mind. '' Maybe she needs to see what to do first? '' He suggested, as he turned to Grey Wind with a short nod. '' Grey Wind. '' He said, catching the direwolfs attention. '' Sit down. '' He then said, and after a short delay the wolf sat down on its rear, looking at Robb for directions, as Robb turned to Arya. '' Now try again? '' He asked with an smile. Arya Stark

Arya smiled back at him, feeling silly at how the big the mantle was on her. She wished she had been there when they found the wolves. Bran had been allowed to go with their father and he was younger then her, but she had been told what was happening was something a lady should not see. Arya didn't bring up her thoughts to him, half scared he might agree. She did not want to be a lady and enjoyed her siblings not treating her like one. "Maybe", Arya replied. She was slightly doubtful but it was worth a try. Arya watched as Grey Wind sat on command and repeated the command to sit to Nymeria. She was answered by the wolf cocking her head to one side. Arya sighed, "I am starting to see how mother feels when she tries to train me to be a proper lady or get Bran to stop climbing", she half mumbled. She looked back up at the wolves and tried to take on the firmness she had heard her mother use on her on many occasions. "Sit down Nymeria", she tried again and was partly surprised when her wolf took a look at Robb before following the command and sitting down beside Grey Wind. Robb Stark

As Nymeria sat down next to Grey Wind, Robb gave Arya an joking pat on her shoulder. '' Father would probably tell us that we can never truly tame a direwolf, which might be true, but it looks like Nymeria might be an swift learner. She will only need an push in the back, as some others. '' He said as he looked over at Arya with an warm smile on his lips. His mother had tried many times to show his little sister how to be an proper lady, but father had said that she had taken after his sister Lyanna, and it was obvious to Robb and the rest of her siblings that the chance of her becoming an proper lady was as big as that Bran would stop climbing across the towers of Winterfell. '' Well.. mother worries about much. '' He began with a calm voice, trying to sound convincingly certain. '' When I was younger than you, she was afraid that I would fall down the stairs and hurt myself. Had it not been for father, I think she might have tried to replace them with slides. '' His voice cracked up in an light chuckle as he shook his head at the whole thing. '' We could try some more commands. '' He decided as he turned back to the two direwolves where they still sat loyally on the ground. '' Lay down, Grey Wind. '' He said to the wolf with an nod. But to his own surprise the direwolf seemed to hear the sentence as 'get up and run to me', and he was met by an damp nose pressing against his leg as he broke out in another laugh. '' Well, he's still in training. '' He got out as he leant down and scratched the wolf behind its ear, looking towards Nymeria to see if she would hear the command better. Arya Stark

Arya playfully shoved her brother away with a laugh, picking up on what he was saying, "Hey, not my fault they want me to be a lady," she replied. "Its not who I am. I will never get the hang of sewing", she continued, a true smile crossing her face.
"Mother's worry is nothing compared to Sansa's. She has been worrying about whether the prince will like her since she heard they where coming. I don't see why, I mean its not as though she is going to marry him", she replied. She had to listen to her sisters fretting in there lessons and it was getting to the younger girl.
Arya laughed at the thought of having slides throughout Winterfell rather then stairs, "Would be fun to go down them though but getting back up would be difficult. Bran would have loved it though", she replied, watching the wolves.
Arya laughed as Grey Wind came running towards them, "Maybe he isn't as perfect as I thought", she replied, suddenly not as worried about her own wolf's behaviour.
"Nymeria, Lay down", she called to her wolf. A grin crossed her face as her wolf lay down, but it didn't last long before Nymeria ran towards her, nearly knocking her off the wall in the process. She smiled at her brother, glad that she now seemed to be making progress with her wolf.
"Why do you think the King is coming here Robb?", she asked him. She had heard rumours around Winterfell and she hoped they where wrong. She didn't want to see her father leave as he had had to a few times before her birth. She had also heard some of the talk about the direwolves. Some believed they where a good omen for them, others where worried what a dead direwolf meant for them all.

'' I'm not blaming you. '' He said with an equally playful tone. '' Sewing seems dull to me too. '' He said as he gave her another wink. As she then began to talk about Sansa, he raised an brow before rolling his eyes for himself. The fact that Sansa were something extremely excited for the Prince's arrival was known to everyone in the castle who weren't deaf and blind, he thought, as it was hard to not notice her high voice when she and her friend Jeyne gossiped about the southern Prince, who should be the most handsome man in the seven kingdoms. But when they got to that part, Robb had often already tired and gone to do something else. '' Well, she's soon a woman.. It comes naturally as you age to be excited about boys. '' He replied with an teased grin. '' And yes, the plan had its faults. ''As Arya cracked up in laughter, because the sight of Grey Wind charging nose first at his leg, or because Nymeria had the chance to do better, he didn't know or care as he cracked up a smile faced towards Grey Winds fur. Arya had always had an sense of humor closer to her brothers than what Sansa had, who would probably find something about this to be upset about, and as Nymeria almost knocked Arya out of her 'saddle' he couldn't feel bad for repaying her laugh with one of his own. '' Looks like they both need some more training. '' He pointed out with a warmth to his voice. When Arya then asked about his thoughts on the Kings arrival, he rose up from Grey Wind who's eyes followed Robb's gesture as it rose up out of reach. He thought briefly before giving her a nick of his shoulders. '' Robert's an old friend of father, but he doesn't seem overly excited about the other southerners who will arrive with him.. Lots of Lords and Ladies, I guess. '' Robb didn't know too much about the southerners, but he had been told that they were often favoring intrigues over justice, and therefore his first impression of them would be an critical one. '' But if we are lucky, the cold might scare them home before too long. '' He finished. Arya Stark

"Yeah but at least you don't have to worry about it", she replied. She hated sewing, it was always pointed out how much better Sansa was at it then she was. She would give anything to be able to learn the same things as her brothers did.
Arya shook her head at his comment on growing excited by boys, "Not me. I want to be a knight. I want to be able to compete in tourneys", she replied. She knew she wouldn't be allowed to but she wanted too.
Arya grinned at Robb as she patted Nymeria, "Nymeria's need of training was never in question though", she replied, thinking about her dip in the river.
She had already been told she had to be on her best behaviour during the royal visit and that she would have to act like a proper little lady. For this reason alone Arya hated the idea of the royal party arriving in Winterfell. She would have to be friendly with the Princess Myrcella and stay in all her sewing classes for the duration of their visit and she really did not look forward to the idea. "I hope the cold does scare them away", she replied truthfully. "Do you think father will be leaving with them?", she watched him as she waited for a reply.

Robb answered his his little sister with an short but agreeing nod as she pointed out that he would never have to worry about any needleworks, a truth Robb was truly thankful for. There were times when he had walked by the room where Arya and Sansa sat and trained on their stitches, when he had heard the septa yelling at Arya for not doing them correctly, and telling her how she should try and be more like Sansa. Everytime he heard that he felt an impulse to throw open the door, run up to Arya and slap the needleworks out of her hands, and tell her to go outside and do something she enjoyed doing instead. But he knew that doing so wouldn't bring much of an positive change, as it would mean that he would have to go directly against their mother, and indirectly fathers will. Something that would probably only result in them telling Arya to start over, and Robb to receive an major scolding for nothing. As Arya carried on though and began to talk about how she wanted to become a knight, he scratched his neck half-awkwardly. He knew that she knew that that could never happen as long as she lived beneath mothers and fathers protection. '' Well, someday you might be able to wield a lance in a joust. '' He began with an comforting voice. '' And then you will be able to show mother and father that you need something heavier than a needle to be your best. '' He continued with a soft smile as he looked at his sister, his hand shuffling her hair jokingly. But he was taken by surprise as she mentioned the possibility of father leaving with the King, and he felt her eyes gazing at him as he thought for a moment before replying to her concerns. '' If the King asks him to leave with him, father won't have much of an choice.. But I hope he won't, and I think father hopes so as well. He belongs here in Winterfell. ''It was almost as if the two direwolves had sensed the change of air as they began to speak about their father leaving them, and Grey Wind let out a whelp that caught Robbs attention as he looked down at the wolf, who began to run off a bit together with Nymeria, almost as if they wished to be chased. Robb looked up at Arya with an renewed smile. '' Dare to bet a needlework that I'll catch up to them first? '' He asked her, a playful tinder in his eyes. Arya Stark

Arya was thankful for his optimism even if they both knew this would never happen. Their mother and father would never allow it and as much as Arya dreamed she knew this was the truth. The only ones of them who would have any choice in their future was Bran and Rickon. Robb was to be Lord of Winterfell one day and Sansa and Arya would be married off to help the gain of their family. Arya often envied her little brothers choice but she knew it did no one any good.
Arya nodded, she knew their father would follow the king if asked, "I hope so to. We all belong here", she replied, scratching under Nymeria's chin. Arya jumped slightly when both wolves ran away then grinned at her brother, "it will be fun to see you try to sew", she replied with a grin. She figured she had nothing to lose if she did, well in fact lose. Sewing was one of the things she had to do anyway. Arya jot off the wall and was after the wolves as soon as her feet hit the ground. She had always been fast, she just hoped she was fast enough to beat her brother.

The septa will be excited to see you walking in the door willingly for once. '' He laughed out gently before he had to set off Arya, who went off faster than he had thought that she would. Since he was quite a few years older he had thought that it would be an easy chase, but as the two direwolves kept on running up, down and around old logs, roots and stones he realized how much he had underestimated his smaller little sisters ability to follow their turns. As he tried to close the gap on a bare meter that existed between the two, he felt the wind shuffle through his hair, and he watched the trees pass by in a green and white blur. How I wish that it would be like this forever, he thought to himself as his feet ran over the damp grass. But he knew very well that it was impossible, as his responsibilities increased by each passing year, and soon he would have little time to spend on playing games with his sisters. He managed to push those thoughts aside by focusing his vision back to Arya and the wolves as he pushed himself a bit more, there were no use in worrying for the future right now either way. Coming closer to the two wolves he felt certain that they were his, but as he leant down to catch them they dodged his grip by leaping in beneath a fallen lodge, and came up to the other side as he almost fell forward. ''Gods be good, they are swift! '' He said out loud. Arya Stark

Arya grinned as she chased after the wolves. She had had a lot of practice chasing after Nymeria as she tried to train her and she wasn't sure Robb was fully aware of this. She ducked, jumped and dodged the rocks, logs and roots that the wolves ran past, with only the larger of which, giving her brother chances to catch up. She had always loved these times spent with her brothers. She always got to do things with them that her sister would never dream of, being the proper little lady that she was.
Arya kept glancing over her shoulder to see Robb catching up on her and she started to worry that she would lose this after all. She laughed slightly when he nearly fell after trying to grab the wolves. The laughing caused her to trip slightly and it took her a couple of steps to regain her balance, in which Nymeria pulled ahead of her again. "Grey Wind hasn't proved that before?", she asked him. She had learned early on that Nymeria could be fast when she wanted to be. She continued after the wolves, trying to work out where they would head next as she kept an eye on the forest around her so she didn't trip again.

He replied to her question in form of an short shrug, in an attempt to keep left some of the momentum he had lost when he had stopped, but as the two took of again he soon noticed how her agility came into shape of her quick turns and swift reactions to the wolfs movements. If I had known my little sister was almost quicker than the wolves, I would have reconsidered my bets, he thought in a brief flash before ducking beneath an lowering branch, but still knowing that he was in the worse position he couldn't help himself from smiling like a fool. As he saw the two wolves corner around an mossy stone he thought quickly, and instead of running around it he leapt up on it and saw the direwolves even closer. But the moss had gone slippery during the night, and as he tried to jump down his boot slid in the greenery, and he thumped down clumsily in an pile of leaves.
When he had regained his focus, he saw Arya standing there with the pups already in her grasp. Rising up he brushed the leafs of his bottom and legs, before raising a brow to her. '' So.. '' He began, somewhat regretting his bet. '' You wouldn't have a needle to lend me, would you? ''

Arya watched as her brother slipped on the rock as she ran around it and took a dive at the two wolves, somehow successfully grabbing them both. She thought for a moment with a grin on her face, wondering if she could use this whole bet with him to get something she really want. As much as it would be fun to watch her brother try to sew, she could think of something she wanted more and it was something she thought he might enjoying doing more too.
Arya scratched behind the wolves ears as she listened to her brother a grin on her face, "I really have a needle of my own", she replied. "But I am willing to make a different deal instead", she waited for a moment to see if she could see interest in his eyes. "I will let you our of the sewing bet if you promise to help me learn how to use a sword. I am not asking for you to change fathers mind, just a chance to learn something, if not I am sure Sansa will have a needle for you to borrow", she replied a small smirk crossing her face. She was glad her brother had made this bet with her, it may just work in her favour too. If she could show their father that she could handle it, it may go somewhere in getting him to let her learn.
