Name : ( Give us the full name of your character ) Renly Baratheon Full Title : ( Write the rank/title of your character, etc Ser, Lord, Lady ) Lord of Storm's End Claimant King of the Seven Kingdoms Former Master of Coin Current Location : ( Where's your character at this moment? ) Highgarden Roleplaying Sample : ( An short sample, just too see how you would plan to write for your character. ) The air smelled as sweet as the golden rose of house Tyrell. Here, the largest army in all of Westeros was gathered to support Renly's claim. Soldiers with the sigil of the stag's head and the golden rose adorned the camp that lay on the roseroad. Soon, the melee would begin, and all of the knights of both the houses would compete for the right to serve Renly's Rainbow Guard. Renly himself was taught to use both a sword and a lance by his lord father. But, of course, he was never as good at it as Robert or Stannis were. That was not a concern of his, for his weapon of choice were his honeyed words and charming mannerisms. fair maidens lined up from all across the seven kingdoms for his hand. Renly never showed his disinterest towards them, of course. To the eyes of Westeros, he belonged to the lady Margaery, and to his own it was to Ser Loras. Before long, Renly found himself staring at the midst of the melee. Ser Loras was his favorite, of course, and he had quite the skill in battle. A young boy who was probably not even fifteen tested his mettle, still unable to control his sword, and Ser Loras swung him aside gracefully. The boy ran off away from the tourney and Renly beckoned him over. The boy hung his head in shame as he approached the king that his father swore fealty to. "Ser Loras defeated me in the melee," he said. Renly offered him a smile. "It takes bravery and true chivalry to take on a man like Ser Loras. You show promise. You'll be a squire for the best of them, and one day even a knight." The boy thanked him and ran off to tell his lord father of his new squirehood. Renly smiled at himself, proud of his actions. He had noticed the sigil of the green sea turtle on the boy's tunic - the sigil of house Estermont. If Renly showed this kindness to the boy, perhaps his father would contribute to the war effort. As the former master of coin, he knew that wars are won through allies and through coin, not through the man with the pointier sword. History : ( Give us the brief history of your character. We don't require that you write down every little event of their lives, but enough to make us know that you've understood the character you're applying for. ) Renly is the youngest Baratheon, fourteen years younger than Robert and thirteen years younger than Stannis. When Robert took the throne, Renly was given the seat of Storm's End over his older brother Stannis who would deserve it by right. Because of this, he has always clashed with his brother. Renly was soon appointed as Master of Coin for the King's small council. Whilst Robert lays on his deathbed, Renly suggests to Eddard Stark that they take the Lannisters by force, and Eddard refuses to follow through with this plan. When Robert finally dies, Renly flees the city of King's Landing to Highgarden, the home of the Tyrells (as he is married to Margaery Tyrell). There, he proclaims himself as rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms. Personality : ( Write us your characters personality, tell us how he/she would react at certain situations ) Unlike his older brothers, Renly prefers to use the powers of charisma over the sword. Because of this, he has formed an alliance with his lady wife Margaery's house of Tyrell, and they back his claim to the throne. He is known throughout the kingdoms as a man who is charismatic and diplomatic, having many other allies. He is fond of holding tourneys and other such things, especially to establish such diplomatic relationships, but some people (such as Catelyn Stark) consider this a waste when there is a war effort. Renly sees himself the best suited to sit the Iron Throne. He feels that his character gives him the best claim, despite the fact that he is the youngest of the three Baratheon brothers. Renly is also engaged in a homosexual relationship with his former squire and wife's brother, Loras Tyrell. He attempts to keep it a secret, although some members of the court are already aware, including Margaery herself.
